The Black Ledger ("we", "us") is a roster-building tool for tabletop skirmish wargames. We respect your privacy and only collect the data needed to provide the service. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account data: your email address and display name, collected when you register or sign in via email, Google, Microsoft, or Apple. Roster data: the warbands, fighters, equipment, and notes you create and save. Campaign data: if you join or run a campaign, your warband name, player name, battle results, and roster snapshots shared with other campaign participants. Profile data: optional display name, bio, location, and avatar you choose to add to your public profile. Usage data: anonymous analytics such as page views and feature usage, used to improve the app.
To create and manage your account. To store, sync, and display your rosters and campaign data. To authenticate you via third-party providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple). To enable optional Google Drive backups of your rosters. To communicate with you about your account or the service. To improve and maintain the app.
Your data is stored securely on cloud servers managed by the platform. Rosters and campaigns are linked to your account and protected by row-level security so only you (and campaign members you share with) can access them. Authentication tokens are managed by the platform and never shared with third parties.
Google Drive: if you enable cloud sync, your rosters are backed up to your own Google Drive. We only request access to files created by this app and never read or modify other files. OAuth providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple): used for sign-in only. We receive your name and email to create your account. We do not access your contacts, calendars, or other data. Analytics: we may use anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used.
We do not sell or rent your data. Your roster and profile data is only shared with other users when you explicitly join a campaign. Campaign data (warband name, battle results) is visible to the GM and other approved campaign members. We may disclose data if required by law.
You can access your data by signing in to your account. You can export your rosters at any time via the print or Google Drive sync features. You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. You can leave a campaign at any time, which removes your warband from that campaign.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your rosters, campaign memberships, and profile are permanently removed. Campaign data you contributed (battle logs, roster snapshots) may be retained by the campaign GM until the campaign is deleted.
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
